NOTTS & DERBY DISTRICT SBT CLUB

MEMBERS’ MID-SUMMER MATCH – MONDAY, 16 JUNE 2008

JUDGE:  JIM MCGRATH (JAJCA)

We held our annual Mid-Summer Match on Monday, 16 June at Shirland Village Hall near Alfreton, Derbyshire.  There was the usual good turnout with the hall being well filled and Judge Jim McGrath had a total of 16 Staffords to go over.  Principal results were:--

BEST PUPPY WALK

CHARMING BOBBY DAZZLER

GEMMA SIMKINSON

BEST PUPPY IN MATCH

LONGDRIVE VALINTINA

STEVE & SANDRA SWIFT

BEST ADULT &

BEST IN MATCH

NIATONA THE BOY WONDER

TERRI MORRELL

In addition to the Match there was an excellent FREE buffet for all those attending and there were a host of prizes on offer for the Match category winners.  There was the usual Bumper Raffle with a Star Prize of £40 worth of Marks & Spencer vouchers – won by the extremely lucky Debbie Saunt! plus many more prizes on offer, so most folk went home with something.  Our thanks to Sue Hunt for her excellent work over the year in supporting the Handling Class and for organising all the raffle prizes – a presentation was made to Sue in recognition of her invaluable assistance.  Many congratulations to all of the above and thanks to all those who attended and/or brought along their dogs, making this another very successful night for the club.

We have one further Match night planned for our Members in 2008:- – once again it will take place at our usual venue of Shirland Village Hall at 7.30 for 8.00pm start:-

I'd like to say a big thankyou to the officers and committee for the pleasure of judging both sexes at this well run show. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors and spectators for their sporting demeanour and for creating such a wonderful atmosphere.

Class 1 - Minor Puppy Dog  2(0)

1st Walker's Janikasco Playing For Keeps: Topsize red/white male. Good clean head with nice length to skull, dark round eyes and neat ears. Well boned front with good length to leg which balanced well with length to body. Erratic on the move and made his handler work hard. In good condition.
